Meet our new reading volunteer Gracie.
May 4, 2018
We are pleased to welcome John Payne, who was previously Chair of Governors, back to the school, but this time with his dog Gracie.
She is a registered PAT dog who has been carefully behaviourally assessed to be suitable to work with children. She will be carefully supervised at all times. Research has shown that dogs provide comfort, encourage positive social behaviours, enhance self-esteem, motivate speech and inspire young people to have fun.
John and Gracie will be regular visitors, jointly working to improve literacy in children by developing their confidence, interest and enjoyment in reading through our read2dogs scheme.
If your child is allergic to animal fur, please let your child’s class teacher know.
